Al-Qaeda, Taliban regrouping
for guerilla war
ISLAMABAD -- Al-Qaeda and Taliban forces
are preparing to launch a full-scale
guerrilla war against the United States
and allies, the Pakistan-based Afghan
Islamic Press (AIP) reported Thursday.
''The guerrilla war is expected some time in April,
'' Afghan military commander Hazrat Ali said in the
AIP report. Al-Qaeda and Taliban fighters were
gathering in the eastern Afghanistan mountains
according to Ali.
China scores again in
space program
BEIJING -- China launched its third
unmanned spacecraft Monday as part
of the nation's manned space program.
The Shenzhou III vehicle, designed
to eventually carry astronauts into
orbit, completed successful tests
of its equipment, officials said.
