China: No quick return of spy plane

CARACAS -- Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhu Bangzao said Tuesday that his country would not return the U.S. spy plane until an investigation was completed.

The United States has insisted that the aircraft be returned immediately claiming that it is a sovereign asset that should never have been boarded by Chinese officials.

Massive sandstorms hit Japan, Taiwan

TAIPEI -- Japan and Taiwan suffered hazardous air quality levels after large sandstorms struck from mainland China beginning on Wednesday.

By Friday, southern Taiwan had an air particle density of 200 mg per cubic meter according to the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA). Dust levels have been between eight to 10 times higher than normal over the last few days.
