BJP party heads worried over Gujarat

NEW DELHI -- The continuing violence in India's Gujarat state is worrying leader's of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Indian press reported Thursday.

In the most recent development, the police commissioner of the Ahmedabad city was replaced by the state director-general of police. K. Chakravarthy will assume most of the P.C. Pande's duties although the latter will remain in his position.

Tokyo exchange evacuated after bomb threat

TOKYO -- A bomb threat forced the evacuation of the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Monday morning, TSE officials said.

The threat was lifted at 9:30 a.m. after no bomb was found, TSE spokesperson Shuya Iimura said.
