South Korean team rescued
in Antarctic, one dead
SEOUL -- One member of a South Korean
research team in the Antartic was dead and seven
other members rescued, the Yonhap News Agency
reported Tuesday.
Chilean rescue teams rescued two groups
of researchers and brought them to South Korea's
King Sejeong Base in the Antarctic. The body of
the 27-year-old dead researcher will be
transferred to Chile.
Agents storm barricaded
airport tower, 2 dead
MANILA -- Paramilitary government security forces
stormed a Manila airport control tower killing two
of twelve men who had seized the building.
Panfilo Villaruel, the leader of the 12 men invovled
in the tower seizure, was among those killed. He is a
former chief of the Air Transportation Office, which
oversees the country's airports.
