Islamabad strikes back after Indian sanctions

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan responded Thursday to India's punitive actions by raising sanctions of its own against New Delhi as border tensions continued to rise.

Islamabad banned Indian Airlines flights from Pakistan's air space, cut the Indian diplomatic staff in half and slapped restrictions on the movements of Indian diplomats.

Pakistan cracking down on suspected groups

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan Tuesday detained the leader of an organization blamed by India for the suicide attack on Indian parliament. That did not stop intense fighting from breaking out along the India-Pakistan border resulting in at least three deaths.

Pakistani spokesman Gen. Rashid Qureshi said that Jaish-e-Mohammed leader Masood Azhar has been placed under ''preventative detention.''
