Bush begins china visit
BEIJING -- U.S. President George W. Bush
Thursday arrived in Beijing for a
two-day visit that will include a meeting
with China's leader.
Bush was accompanied by his wife, Laura,
and Secretary of State colin Powell. They
had just completed a visit to South Korea
where Bush voiced his support for South
Korean President Kim Dae-jung's ''sunshine
policy.''
Nepal govt blasted after
deadly attack
KATHMANDU -- The government of Prime Minister Sher
Bahadur Deuba Monday was hammered by the opposition
after Maoist rebel attacks overnight killed at least
156 people.
Ministers from the affected Achham and Sarlahi districts
together with the opposition parties lashed out at the
government for security lapses. The lawmakers claimed that
they had warned the government in advance to take special
precautions.
