Seoul sends envoy to N. Korea

SEOUL -- South Korean envoy Lim Dong-won Monday left for Pyongyang to help resolve the nuclear issue, officials said.

Lim will deliver a letter from South Korean President Kim Dae-jung to North Korean leader Kim Jong Il. He is also expected to meet with a number of other senior officials at Pyongyang.

Megawati to stand again for election

JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri challenged her oppenents to unseat her in next year's elections.

The announcement made at a rally in front of her residence was the first time she had indicated her intention to run for reelection. The statement was apparently made in repsonse to opponents who threatened to topple her government.
