Saudi blasts claim 2 Filipinos, injure 16

RIYADH -- Two Philippine nationals were killed and 16 hurt when suicide bombers attacked three housing compounds in Saudi Arabia Monday night.

U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell said the attacks on the housing for foreign workers looked like the work of the al-Qaeda network.

SARS deaths rise to 506, 7,053 infections

GENEVA -- The Worldwide SARS death toll reached 506 out of a total 7,053 cases, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Thursday.

In China, where the disease is believed to have orginated in Guangdong province, five more deaths were reported on Thursday. The total death toll is 224. An additional 146 new cases were reported there raising the total to 4,698.
