African Union, ASEAN forge closer ties

PHNOM Penh -- African Union (AU) Chairman Thabo Mbeki met with leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and promised stronger ties between the continents.

The first summit between the AU and ASEAN was held in Phnom Penh. Mbeki is the president of South Africa which holds the current chair of the African Union.

Thousands expected at Bali bombing commemoration

DENPASAR, Indonesia -- Thousands of people are expected to attend a purification ceremony on Nov. 15 to commemorate the bombing in Bali.

The ritual will take place at the site of the bombing in Denpasar, the capital of Bali.
