Qigong and yoga/pranayama can help with oxygen availability.

Germanium and germanium-rich food/herbs like garlic, shiitake mushroom, ginseng, suma (the South American tonic herb), and aloe vera are good for oxygen efficiency. Germanium works well in combination with coenzyme Q10, which is found naturally in good quantities in soybean and canola oils, and peanuts/nuts.

Anti-oxidants like vitamins C,E,A,F and selenium also help with oxygen usage.

Natural sources of vit. F are:

Flaxseed oil, other seed and nut oils such as pumpkin seed oil, canola oil, soya oil, walnut oil, fish like salmon, trout, mackerel, sardines and tuna and meats from wild or range fed animals. Sources of specific vitamin F components (not balanced sources of EFAs on their own) include evening primrose oil, grape seed oil, sesame seeds and oil, sunflower seeds and oil and avocados.

Good herbs for oxygen availability are gingko, especially good for oxygen flow to heart, magic grass (Gynostemma pentaphyllum), Siberian ginseng and Cordyceps Sinensis.

Some natural things to do during asthmatic attacks are to reduce constriction caused by clothing and the like, and get person out of stuffy area into place with plenty of fresh, flowing air.

In case of attack, cayenne is one of the best things to administer first. It's a great emergency first aid herb. Relieve all constriction to air passages and blood circulation, loosen tight clothing, remove heavy clothing. Open windows or remove person to area of fresh air. Encourage to breathe deeply and calmly. Steam and menthol can help open air passages.

Prepare strong green tea with herbs like cinnamon, fresh ginger, anise, and thyme. Give oils like soy, canola, flaxseed, nut/seed oils, fish oil. Inhale vapors from tea.
