In ancient times, many of the natural pain killers used are now illegal today because of their narcotic effect i.e. opium, hemp-marijuana, coca leaf, etc. , One type of ancient pain killer, fermented alcoholic beverages, are legal but proscribed for purchase.

In western countries up until modern times, a shot or more of brandy or whiskey was used even in wartime for emergency surgery and amputation.

The pain-killing ingredient in aspirin is modeled after an active component in white willow bark. , The latter is generally considered a safer pain-killer than aspirin for people who suffer gastric bleeding or have thin blood. Bring 1/2 teaspoon dried white willow bark to boil in 2 cups of water and then simmer for 20 minutes.

Use a quarter to half cup of the tea at a time. , You can mix with chamomile, peppermint, ginger or other teas to make a full cup and sweeten with honey.

For pain relief and sleep, make a strong tea of peppermint and chamomile or chrysanthemum. , Use a half cup of the tea together with a half cup of warm, draft beer. , This should be a regular beer made of barley and hops, both of which have mild sedative effects. , Of course, only use this if you have no problems with alcohol addiction.

If the pain is due to sore or stiff muscles or inflammation, try ginger. , Ginger tea, plain or together with peppermint and chrysanthemum can be effective. Or try warmed milk mixed with tumeric and honey.
