Producer / Director Bob Bryan to halt distribution of
NAKED BROWN MEN: The Movie
February 7, 2004, Los Angeles, CA-- Naked Brown Men: The Movie starring actors Derek, Dion, Dante and Darion Basco (Basco brothers) and costarring writer/actor Adam G, is being released without the proper and legal authority of Producer / Director / Director of Photography Bob Bryan, Bryan World Productions. LLC. In addition Mr. Bryan's name has been illegally and erroneously, with malcontent removed / omitted from the NBM poster (see below), press release and film credits.
The Basco Brothers and Adam G are not 'The Directors' of NBM: The Movie as they are falsely depicted on the films' poster. Mr. Bob Bryan is the sole Director.
Mr. Bryan will initiate legal action against the stated 'Producers of NBM' seeking unspecified financial and punitive damages due him because of this deliberate decision to circumvent his proper creative and legal authority over NBM:The Movie. According to signed contracts 'The creative edited content of Naked Brown Men is under the total responsibility of the Producer and Director Bob Bryan.' Mr. Bryan is also entitled to 15% of Adjusted Gross Income including revenues derived from NBM Theatrical Release and other financial and creative considerations.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bryan is demanding that Future Screenings ie: Gloria Gifford Conservatory Theater (GGC) at 6468 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90038, Exhibition, Duplication and further negotiations and exploitation with other third parties be stopped immediately.
Mr. Bryan will be issuing this Press Release to Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and other Entertainment-Oriented publications, TV shows, Film Festivals, websites (National and International) clearly stating the legal reality that Naked Brown Men: The Movie is currently enjoined, and prevent any further advanced screenings, publicity or official festival selections.
The motivation of this malicious maneuver by the Basco Brothers, Richard Olson, Adam G, Dragonstar Entertainment, Colorblind Pictures is unclear to Mr. Bryan at this time, therefore he will protect his extensive negotiated legal rights by securing legal counsel representing his claims.
Furthermore, as a longtime member of the Directors Guild of America, Mr. Bryan will be contacting their legal department to engage their coordination in this serious infringement of Mr. Bryan's contractual rights.
All this being said, we request that any future dissemination of Naked Brown Men: The Movie immediately 'Cease and Desist.' Mr. Bryan takes his claims to NBM very seriously, and will vigorously pursue his legal, professional and financial contractual rights to the movie.
