Nepal is quite diverse, with many different 'castes' for want of a better word. Whilst the hindus.....Brahmin, Chetri etc are more indian like & live more in the lowlands & middle hills, the Buddhists, Sherpa, Tamangs etc come from the higher altitudes. Sherpa's originate from Tibet. The Sherpa & Tibetan languages are very similar.
