I trained in cmd for over three years. I was never brainwashed because my faith in Christianity was stronger. However, I was indoctrinated into thinking that John C. Kim was to be revered, and I was not to question the orders of my instructors (Assistant regional head instructors John Topper and Mark Ambrosio). After the entire legal fiasco, I began training in Northern Shaolin Kung Fu. I realized that all the movements I learned in CMD were useless. The tai chi was fake, the Bagua was fake, the kung fu was really fake, and the weapons were fake. Furthermore, when began sparing in Kung Fu, I was helpless. The 'self defense' movements in CMD were very impractical. I was never taught to fight in CMD. I was only taught flowery, 'bone-breaking' techniques.
