Well, actually, the way things happened, the Filipino veterans fought side by side with the americans during the Second World without expecting something (benefits or whatever) in return. It was a war of america fought in Philippine soil. It just so happened that many many years after the war, those who are lucky to be alive mostly are now suffering from extreme proverty. Now in their twilight years, many are sickly and disabled obviously because of old age.. Is it fair for America to just watch them in their current suffering without extending some helping hand, at least affording them some benefits which were originally due to them before the unfair passage of the unfair Recession Act that deprived them of such benefits currently enjoyed by their american counterpart?
