Unfortunately Genetics rules out the possibility that Lapita sites were Polynesian sites as all major Lapita sites were in Melanesia and Polynesians separated from Melanesians 11,500 years ago. Polynesians have closer relatives in Taiwan, but left there 6,000 years ago. Their closest relatives are the Tlingit and Haida of Canada. Genetics shows they left there 2,200 years ago making Hawaii the cradle of Polynesian Society. Samoa was a crossroads of Micronesians, Melanesians, ancient Caucasians(the Pyramids are possibly Phoenician, as is Haamonga Arch of Tonga Tapu and Trireme spike on canoes is also of Phoenician origin) The Peruvian red haired Caucasians of Easter Island may have also contributed to Samoan society(Kumera and Manioc). Even Mayans may have contributed to Samoan society (round ended houses and Cocoa). Polynesians from Hawaii did not contribute to Samoan culture until less than 1,500 years ago. Eastern Polynesians are the pure Polynesians. Because Samoa was a crossroads it is not possible for pure blood Polynesians to have come from there.
