The book, "The Coming Plague" by Laurie Garrett,
Penquin Books, publisher, 1995 addresses newly
emerging diseases caused by overuse of
antibiotics developed since the 1940's.Yes,
it is about much more than pimples which are only
one of many symptoms related to excessive
antibiotic use.

Often a person who has a very serious
case of acne (pimples) also has other troublesome
symptoms. While the story may not emphasize these
relationships directly, a person with acne, allergies
frequent colds, neverending flu like conditions
and a list of other symptoms which were not
recognized as belonging to any specific
in allopathic medicine until recently might be
enlightened by the information in the book and
thus seek both allopathic and naturopathic
physicians who are informed about the effects
of antibiotic overuse and who are educated enough
to provide better treatment for acne, etc.

I took such a route.I did not come by it easily.
It took many years for me to learn how to find
the informed doctors. But I am in good health now.
My acne and other skins problems are so much
better. I have no more allergies.I am not sickly.

The physicians who practice this kind of comprehensive
health care is still somewhat small group but growing.
These doctors will be able to promote reversal of
pimples and some other disease conditions caused by
overuse of antibiotics. The bad news is there are
some conditions for which it will take a long time
like a several years to completely eliminate.

Then there are those disease conditions such as
addressed in the book for which cure is extremely
difficult or fatal.

The other book I mentioned:The Yeast Syndrome
is an excellent book and provides much detail
about antibiotic overuse and provides treatment
approaches.It came out over 20 years ago.I
was fortunate enough to run across it.I thought
some oddball wrote at first glances. But I did
buy it and learned that I was
one the people described in the book. The book is on loan.I do not recall
the M.D. who wrote it but I think the paperback
is still available.

The Coming Plague was presented in
T.V. format several years ago. News described the
book:Brilliant...the ultimate short course in
new killer diseases...must reading"
The book back cover caption is as follows.
The shocking story of how and why we are losing the
war against infectious diseases--and what must be
done to stop them.

Hope you read it.Thanks for your inquiry.

I neglected to add that anti-fungal over
counter remedies like Mycatin, Nystatin, Lotrimin,
were very helpful for my acne.

Nizoral was the best of the antifungal medications
for my condition but needs a prescription.
Don't expect the condition to clear up quickly if
it has been around a while. The pharmacist
said it can take a "long" time.

The condition is deeper than on the surface of the
skin so have patience.Learn what works for one's
own case.

Also Retin A helped. It causes inflammation. When
this was extreme or caused too much dryness for me
I stopped using it for a while. Also a mild
cleanser with natural ingredients and fine to
granules is essential to promote the exfoliation
which will help to eliminate the dead skin, oil and
bacteria on the skin. Last year I started added
some drops of tea tree oil to my cleanser. It
kills many harmful organisms. Do some reading
about this remedy that was used by physicians
regularly before pharmacetical drugs took over.

Take care.
