History is filled with dead human beings who, for lack of wisdom and inflated ego, failed to grasp that a higher being exists. A higher being that loves them and only wants to have a relationship with them.
I am reminded of my favorite C.S. Lewis quote:
We are half-hearted creatures. We fool about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered to us. Like ignorant children who would rather go on making mud pies in the slum because they cannot comprehend what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.
Realize that your cup can never be filled by human searching, longing and trappings. Release yourself and ask God to save you.
