X Instructor,

I must say that you write a well laid-out argument, but I have to tell you that your facts are not up-to-date. On the International System, students learn from their instructor, their instructor's instructor, their instructor's instructor's instructor, and their instructor's instructor's instructor's instructor -- all as part of the program. The average price paid for this instruction is anywhere from $150 per month to $300 per month, as stated on the Oom_Yung_Doe web site. For this lesson payment, the average student probably goes to class 2-3 times per week. In addition, most make their Regional Lesson times, taught by 5th Degree Black Belts. Most also make their National Lesson times, taught by 6th or 7th Degree Black Belts. And just about everybody makes their International Lesson times, taught by 8th Degree Black Belts. Lets say the average martial arts school costs $125 per month, and this is for lessons from the local instructor. If you want to take a seminar from a higher belt in the area, maybe they charge $25 per lesson. If you want to take a lesson from their teacher, an average is around $50 per lesson. Getting a private lesson from an 8th Degree Black belt on the things you, as an individual, need to practice is easily worth more than that - ask any student that has experienced it. On top of this, throw in equipment and topical herbs included with the program. So, let's add it up. $125 + $50/month for Regional Lessons ($25x2) + $50 per month for National Lessons + $75 per month for direction from the 8th Degree Black Belt. Now imagine that every one of those teaching individuals is paying attention to your training - not just a one time seminar, but each time you are getting personalized adjustments and new movement based on where you want to go, and where you have been. It's all included in the training, and it is all designed to help each one of us improve as quickly as possible. And, as I mentioned before, it costs anywhere from $150 - $300 per month. And it's worth it for many -- if it's not worth it to you, good luck in your endeavors. However, I suggest you check your facts before posting like an authority. Maybe your experience was different, but your experience was also in the past. I have experienced both, and there is a clear difference.
