The salt (& pepper) was used on students if they had attended a wake or funeral within the last three days to keep any unwanted spirits or 'chopki' (sp?) out of the places.

The ritual was to be outside before entering, face away from the entrance, not facing north and the sprinkling sequence (looking at the back of the subject) was left shoulder, right shoulder then top of head.

Sometimes immediatley afterwards, the sprinkled or the sprinkler would alude to a strange feeling. Wonder why, but its not a cult or anything.

Usually this was not passed below a certain belt, depending on their level of individual understanding (how clear) and/or their 'connection' to the place.

For what its worth, the Guam thing still bothers me. That always made it seem special, didn't? I mean hey, if you got one in Guam, you must really be something. We were sometimes told the reason the places could not be found in other countries was because they were under another name, and this would all be explained later.

Supposedly, Tom White traveled to Korea with kim/park and when stepped into the room there was so many other same ranked belts he did not know where to stand. Upon returning Yuk Hap Quil (sp?) Quan form was passed.

Apparently this too was just another lie. Why they lie is perhaps unknowable, however it reveals their true character, one of deceipt and fraud.
