Here's the problem.
Jerry Barfield does not worship Tom White. Joe Jakosalem doesn't either. I mean, they may get along, but worship is the key.
No one believes any of those guys can jump from an 11 story building and land.
Without that, there's no connection.
Kim's kid isn't gonna be worshipped by the masses, because that's just too frikkin weird to even consider, that's like over the top straight into the middle of cult lala land, especially considering the kids haven't studied all that long.
The fact is, pics of Tom White flying side kicking won't sell schools, and the other fact is, despite the inherent illogic in the following statement, even the moo will recognize the dibilitating effect the flab of age would have on one's ability to negate gravity.
Nope, they'll continue worhipping a dead Kim, anyone who tries to take over will never be looked at in the same light. And none of them are apparently the sort of charismatic that Kim was.
The JKD relation might be a good one, because of the eras of practice. Some might proclaim, as you are familiar, that the early kong su is decent, with the moo forms from the eighties being the height of chung moo proficiency to date. Others will claim that the newer NLT(National Lettuce and Tomato) system is the pinnacle, and that the others are unclean. JKD has this with the jun fan and jkd eras. However, and in my opinion, everything decent in the late era moo stuff was in the old stuff, with a lot of what seems to me to be chaff added in.
In a weird way, I don't think the chung moo thing will ever go away, but I do think that the ones who we hear from most often, the Kim worshippers, will eventually be discreditted by those who want to get back on track and practice martial arts, their initial goal in the first place. After all, it was martial arts that was supposed to make us better people, and Kim was only important because he knew more than us beginners. But the fact is, there's lots of experienced people, more experienced than John Kim. Lifelong students. That's the goal.
