One poster commented that one bit of text on the Boston site seemed to relate the Forrest story, but changed it to a grandmaster(8th degree, according to the story).

Could be the same story changed around, in any case, it's anecdotal. It's not even presented as a first hand account, unlike other things on the page. One must assume that the writer was told the story, but clearly does not have any supporting evidence or additional sources other than the one who told him about it.

Now, on to the stories about the three section staff and the bag, respectively.

First off, the three section staff story, where Kim broke the staff, which was one of the ring ones, AT THE RINGS(which the story doesn't go into on the website) has two problems. First, those familiar with ring type three section staffs know that the staff, if it is going to go, will go where the hardware is connected to the wood, not at the ring. Fir one to break at the ring would require a fault in the ring or other similar mitigating factors.

I might chalk up the whole thing to a fault in the ring had Tom White, Kim's right hand man, not been alone in the school late the night before for no damn reason, as it wasn't his school. Which certainly makes the whole thing more questionable.

Be alright to mention that inspection of the three section staff was not encouraged? The school owner who owned the staff wasn't even asked if it was all right for Kim and Tom to take it, they just did.

There's higher belts still in who agreed that it was hokey as can be, just silly showmanship. You know who you are.

Which, IMO, makes the heavy bag story sound questionable as well.

The rest of those stories are boring. The sword one is nothing new, nor unique to Kim, as unfamiliar techniques appear much more sublime than they generally are. The punch one is lame. Someone punched at him and he moved back? Wow, thanks for recording that one for posterity.
