Speaking of Tai Chi, I like the fact that your websites state that Tai Chi is not for self-defense. What's that all about? First, if it's not for self-defense, why do you bother demonstrating self-defenses from tai chi? I spent several classes teaching students how to use the first movement as self-defense. We practiced multiple attacker scenarios. Why were we taught that the 6th move is an in block, and then a strike to the chin? Why discuss how the hand drops down, to strike with the inside part of the hand, and the turns out to strike with the sudo part of the hand?
At any rate, REAL tai chi is great for self-defense, and it's practiced as such. At least that's how it is in my school.
To answer your previous question, I study in the Seattle area. Let me know what days you have available and I'll arrange for a lesson with my teacher for you. I'd rather do it over email, if you don't mind.
