Correct is in relatin to balance, and rooting. If you have that, you are in 'Correct' position. Basically, IMO, the whole ''don't let your knees go past your toes'' is a layman's way of telling you to be properly rooted and balanced. I feel it's an overly simplified, external explanation used to try and get beginners to understand the concept of propper weighting that has been taken too far, and too ridgedly by too many people. When you have to sacrafice all your other structure to do it, it can't be right as far as I'm concerned.
So long as your evenly weighted on the 9 points, and your not sticking your butt out, leaning excessively forward and arching your back, all to get the knees back behind the toes, your good.
