Picture 1 - http://www.aquamojo.com/hapkido/Lee%201.jpg His body is leaning back away from the attack and his lower leg position has his knee pointing down. He also is not covering his groin with his foot. Lastly he seems to be putting an lot of physical effort in to this simple movement.

Not bad for a basic movement. He could do better by not seperating his strength by pulling his hand back as though he is going to punch a hole in a brick wall.
