think this was from earlier thread, the FFL debate:

a valid class III (or maybe a Curio & Relic if items don't fire?) for a full 'machine gun,' unless you live in a state that does not require, such as Florida. Could be wrong but that's my understanding.

nada for a rifle or regular barrel shotgun where I live. 'Sawed offs' - I think its what 14'?? are banned, right?

a permit to purchase for a pistol valid for one year is required, unless have CC permit (good for five) or a FOI card in some of the more repressive states. Some of these even require the FOI just to purchase ammo.

in these place, like Illinois, the big thing now is cities and towns banning handguns. Think Chicago banned ownership in city limits and rifles have to be registered, right?

Western states (except CA and WA) are generally much more relaxed, but its been a long time since
checked it out.

As far as martial arts and firearms instruction,
since you sound like might have been military can you explain flash sighting? Is this absolute good skill to develop?

Is this for close-quarters use in all situations or only in enclosed areas (room clearing)?

What is your take on the training - how long does it take to become proficient?

What are the best ways to practice? thanks.

The self defense taken so far has been o.k. - and understandlably ranges dont want to turn out gun slingers but some are looking for advanced skills development.

We have limited ranges / public access. Putting together a group that can train on privately owned faciltiy but dont want to be linked w/ a militia. We have some NRA certified people who are willing to come out.

Appreciate your comments.
