Please excuse my spelling on a couple words on my last post. End of my shift and all. I work a Wed thru Sun third shift. To tell you the truth this is a rough shift to work because of the lack of socializing. Does anyone remember Fat Man. I would rather do 500 of those a day than deal with this shift. (Or even Tiger bounce.) Either one is discipline.
Back to my thoughts of students that had lost what they had learned from the CMQ experience.
20 years later I found my self unable to run an entire block. Pathetic. Constantly in pain. Mainly my lower back after waking.
Pulled the bike out and started to ride. 6 weeks later and 300 more miles on the odometer I decided I needed more. So, I searched the area out for near by schools. I wanted Korean owned and trained facility because of my past. It makes sense to me to find Korean based style because in theory the movements should be similar. (If one wants a hot dog one doesn't go to Pizza Hut.) I was some what correct except for the intensity of training has changed so much I thought I found another junk shop. Not true, I believe now days it is really up to the students to push themselfs not the instuctors. Too many lawsuits probably. I'am not to sure.
Anyway while practicing in the new school I found my form seemed to be more percise than the others around me including some upper ranks. At such a low rank for me to notice such things must mean that the training from the past is awakening. Something I thought I lost.
I am now into my second week of practicing. That is six scheduled classes. I find my self learning at an incredible rate if I apply myself. The body seems to remember on its own. (Amazing.) I started off with my legs. The split position in the beginning of the 2 week agenda was about 8 inches off the ground both front and side. Now with a little application of my mind I am now only 3 inches away from my first goal. Full splits on the ground breathing at a relaxed state for minutes like I had remembered from the past.
Tried 360 Fan Kick form. I always used this particular form for a body check on my balance and flexibility of my lower back. I did acomplish the kick with the heighth of head level. It felt good but tight.
What I'am trying to put across is I realize now I had learned much more than movement and discipline while in CMQ. I learned a sense of awareness that the average person is capable of but can't apply due to lack of discipline in their lives.
Amongst other things, my body, like I had mentioned above, is remembering for me not my mind.
It's the physical familiar that awakens the mental familiars.
For example I had recalled ground hog form this afternoon just by moving around. I believe we called it Do Doe Chee. ( The spelling doesn't look correct. But, I think you know what I'am talking about.) I forgot the power one can achieve from such a movement.
I'am learning more now at 40 than at 20 because my mind is more aware of things such as the vast movements and style of discipline I received from my experience of CMQ.
So, instead of bickering amongst your selfs why don't we try and recall the positives from the true experience of CMQ.
You think I didn't concern myself on how the CMQ experience effected other students and myself is wrong. I am concernced other wise I wouldn't of posted such a lengthy outline.
But, please remember don't blame others for your own human behavior disorders.
For those people that had a bad experience with
CMQ can only blame them selfs for the outcome of their experience. People only do what they want to do. No one can break the human spirit only the spirit of the individual can do that.
Please don't take offense of what I just mentioned. That is not why I'am communicating in this manner. All I'am trying to do is move people's sense of awareness. So that we all can see the positive out of the negative. It's not that difficult once one WANTS to.
Have a safe Holiday.
Peace.
