Correct Respect

Yesterday I was walking around a 63 acre parcel of land and the thought came to me 'I'll offer them such and such and give 5 acres to OYD if they will accept it' to show my gratitude.

Is that incorrect to do so?

Would it be better to offer them the equivalent in cash?

I have already given a Buddhist monastary a small piece of land adjacent to theirs I got horse trading and such but would like to put something back into OYD and do not have time and all to become a teacher.
