Every martial artist, as the years go by, should be prepared to modify and adapt his or her methods in accordance with what seems to work best for them. Movement in a sense could lose its fluidity.

For example: movement has to be adjusted according to ones abilities or inabilities due to injuries.

From my investigation just on this forum alone I have come to the realization that all Styles of Martial Arts have some weakness. Couldn't these weaknesses if recognized be adjusted with the leverage of another style? And if so, does it make it wrong?

My opinion on this could be presented with the idea of technology. Where are we with technology today? I would have to say that we wouldn't have what we have today if it wasn't for the investigation of technology of yesterday. Trials and errors ect....

Could this principle be applied to Martial Arts?

Progession is the recognition and application of efficiency towards obtaining a specific goal. What ever the goal may be.

From my experience of physical confrontations. I don't defend my self with one particular style. The knowledge I need to use will depend on the situation and the abilities of my opponent. The knowledge that I am mentioning is energy and the ability to match or better the energy that is being presented from my opponent.

Maybe this is why CMD schools don't compete with other styles. No capabilities of adjustment to situations. Too one way of thinking. Seek and destroy or don't use at all. No confrontation should last more than 3 seconds. If longer, one is considered playing.

I do believe mixing information from one style to another is a necessary tool to recognize and achieve ones ultimate abilities of movements.
