Patience and respect could be begin just as early in the western world. Why doesn't it? Personally, I think it's societal. We've forced ourselves to become secular and rely souly on ourselves for moral compasses (to borrow an O.Y.D term). The fact is, your own morallity is completely flawed. It's only when you connect to God's moral compass that can begin to be correct. That moral compass is layed out nice and neat for all to see, you only have to go and read the bible to find it. I know this sounds preachy, (and it is Sunday), but we all have choices to make. People choose not to look at something because they think it will be harder for them. That is sad.
