Holding a *Correct'* horse is very benificial. It developed solid structure, and good muscular endurance. Actualy, holding all your postures, as well as the transitions is very good.
3-5 minutes should be good if you string a dozen or two together, and 10-20 for single postures should be the goal. We used to do it everyday, but only push to 70% of our capacity. RD actually recomends pushing to 100% of capacity, but only doing ot 2-3 times a week. Both have merit, but RD's way builds faster.
