Definetly something you had earned.
It's funny how I was under the impression that the strength came from practicing forms. Another instilled folly of the old style of the past.
This brings up other impressions of the past. I am go to mention one that I would like a response from you. (You of today, not the past.)
I believe you were a 4th or 5th section when I was going to test for 3rd. Here is the deal. I naturally pinned out students with certain talents and tried to hook up with them to get insights on how they accomplished certain abilities.
I tried this with you but kept getting an attitude. I felt that I was not worthy of your time.
reply) That sounds like me. I'm a terrible teacher too, and I frustrate easily when I try, so it may have been partly that too.
::Ahh now I remember. It was mentioned by other students the reason why some of the higher belts had this way about them was because I was not part of the style's elite structure.
reply) Niether was I, but I'm sure i acted like it.
>>I was pretty stubborn when it came to control issues. Do you think it was the style's mentality?
Reply) It's not a style first off, but a chain of schools teaching a number of styles in a half assed manor, but yes it promotes a controll freaky mentality.
::If so. It's a shame the school created such an atmosphere. Some of the students could of got much more out of the experience. Not that I didn't learn anything.
Reply) I found pretty much anyhting I learned was wrong. I had to be completely re trained under RD and my new Kung Fu school afterwards. It was not just their attitude or atmosphere.
