I'm trying to remember this one. Which way is the opening of the U? In otherwords, the top of the open top of the U would be facing which direction?
Answer) Step right-in block right. The right hand forms a fist with the palm facing back, elbow down extended out approximately 45deg. Left hand is a palm and is covering low. The U is a sideways U that starts at the top and goes back, down the forward again.
'After blocking the arm, the fist goes back then forward again.'
Meaning the fist goes back towards the defender's rear side? On the forward movement, is it like a backfist?
Answer) This is the funny part. No it is not a back fist but a straight in punch. The elbow does not move. The fist is what goes back creating a whipping like motion. It is the simular motion as doing a reverse figure 8 with a broad sword.
'After hitting with the right step in with the left and twist the body clockwise and hit with the left.'
What sort of strike with the left?
Answer) Straight punch from low to high
The name sounds so familiar. I can exactly picture the in block, of course. That goes against everything I train myself for now, stepping right and blocking right inside, thus leaving your back exposed to the left hand. However, I reserve judgement until I can picture the rest of it.
