Cibo Matto will be touring the East coast and Midwest during the month of May. The Warner Brothers twosome will play Irving Plaza in NYC on May 5th and the Metro in Chicago on May 10th in addition to other dates.
The popular Japanese manga and anime series Berusaiyu no Bara (The Rose of Versailles) will be made into opera according to creator Riyoko Ikeda. The comic book has sold more than 12 million copies in Japan and the musical version is expected to last more than three hours.
Everybody's kung fu fighting
Hong Kong action director Tsui Hark is returning home after a Hollywood stint to make Time and Tide starring Nicolas Tse. In the future, Tsui plans to make a sequel to Black Mask, the film that launched Jet Li's career.
Universal Pictures has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Le Pacte des Loups (Brotherhood of the Wolf) according to Variety. The film, which costars martial arts actor Mark Dacascos, broke the previous box office record held by Titanic.
Kiyoshi Kurosawa's horror film Kairo an official entry to the Cannes Film Festival has been picked up by Distant Horizon for distribution in the United States and most other English-speaking countries.
Distant Horizon, headed by CEO Anant Singh is also producing The Legend of Zu starring CTHD star Zhang Ziyi.

Taiwan President Chen Shui-bian paid a visit to Academy Award winning director Ang Lee who had returned home for his mother's birthday. The chief executive went to the same high school as Ang in the southern city of Tainan.
Hot off her success in Charlie's Angels, Lucy Liu will begin filming the thriller The Company Man next month. Till then you can hear Lucy's voice on Futurama Sunday, May 13 on Fox network.
