there were some benefits in physical conditioning and base-level understanding of self defense, the later of which could be exploited by an experienced boxer. took a while to figure that out so at least i was not vulnerable from investing years in a system that does not work. AND I was one of the ones that could supposedly 'handle' when it came down to it! My real-world jobs kept me tuned to reality, luckily. Do what have to do.

there were many physical problems developed from injury in over exertion, instructors beating on us, trying out what they themselves were beat upon without understanding the movement, improper teaching and generally not being qualified or simply could not show us physically well enough. they did not understand well enough/ were not qualified to teach. 'we did not know 'that' was going to happen' was a favorite.

probably should list the physical shiit some of us went through, but need to think past the pond.

maybe on Yahoo, TLM.
