Good story.
Sounds very traditional.
We need more of that type of training in this country.

The only problem would come from the likes of the individuals on this site. They would screaming up and down for proof of the monk's ability. They wouldn't even be content with photographs of him demonstrating, they would just say the photos are fake. Isn't that simple?

Can you imagine a beginning student being told that upon entering a martial arts school? That poor monk would raked over the coals.

Would any of you be willing to do clean like that everyday with no end point in site, and also do some kind of strange stick rubbing even though you were given no explanation of its purpose?

I don't think so. You want flash and fun.
