I don't know what the passage means. I'm assuming you are interpretting it to mean that since no man can know the face of God, no man can know the religion of God (e.g, many paths leading to the same thing). If I'm wrong, forgive me.

If I take it literally, it would mean that no one can know what God looks like. This seems like a reasonable answer, but one that doesn't hold much symbolism, and I'd wonder why God would have it in the bible. If you look deeper, I'd say that it could reflect that no man can know the depth of God or fathom the completeness of God.

Regardless, if you are stating it as the original premise (e.g., many paths), then I'd have to say that the testament of Christ, when he says that he is the 'way, the truth, and the light', and that 'no one may come to the father without going through him' (my wording, but you get the sentiment) overrides that feeling.

What do you think?

By the way, no other religion has LIVING God. Christianity is the only religion that offers this. Mohammed was a prophet, not unlike John the Baptist. Jesus IS the living God. There's a huge difference.
