Do you know at least one application for every move in your forms?

If not, why not?

Are you taught them directly, or do you find them for yourselves?

For me, it's both. I know applications for all of my six elbows forms, some I've found on my own, some I've seen my teachers do.

As for longfist, I am still working on the applications, there's a couple moves that I have yet to work on and find an application for, but I plan on doing so in the next few months.
